Book about Lysøen
A new book about Ole Bull`s villa at Lysøen is now published.
The celebration of Ole Bull’s 200th birthday in 2010 gave the opportunity to go into source material that has not been used before. This material provided the basis for the book ´Ole Bull`s villa Lyso´
Ole Bull’s ”Villa Lysø” is one of the most distinctive pieces of architecture in Norway, and at the same time a memory of one of the country’s most important cultural personalities. Despite this, we have lacked a scientific publication about this property.

The story behind the villa
The book ´Ole Bull's Villa Lysø´ is written by Trond Indahl, chief-curator at Permanenten (West Norway Museum of Decorative Art), and published by ´Bodoni forlag´.
In the book you`ll find the story behind the villa that Ole Bull builded at Lysøen in 1872-73. You'll also find interesting information about the architect Fredrik von der Lippe, the construction process and Lysoens recent history.
The book has text both in Norwegian and English language, and is richly illustrated with old and new photographs.
